I had a dream.
Not the kind of dream where you see yourself riding in a unicorn or having superpowers. This one's different. Every detail seems so...vivid. And I should be telling about it right now instead of making a fuss on how I would start this entry. Oh well, here it goes.
I was standing...somewhere. In an unfamiliar place, in a city I guess. There were buses and cars honking. And then there was this big house on the other side of the road. A really big house. And something's pulling me...gravitating me towards that big house. I followed my insticnts and crossed the street.
I realized that the rain had stopped pouring and a rainbow appeared. And as I watched the formation of the rainbow, something unusual occurred. It bounced off on one of the big house's window. And instead of making a full arc like the usual rainbow, it became two half-arcs. I hurriedly crossed the street and entered the big house (which I found unlocked.) I went to the floor to which the window was located. When I reached the the place, guess what? Some Pascal students (mostly former Feynmans) were also there!

ALMOST everbody who belonged in Feynman was there!
The usual groups with the usual members and as if we were in our usual place.
At last, I reached the very window I’ve been looking for. I opened the other side and tried to reach for the rainbow. And to my surprise, everybody did the same! We helped each other until we got hold of something like…cotton candy. We kept some in our pockets and laughed and sang and danced and hugged each other as if we achieved something. As if we had the same goal all along. The sun was already down and the rainbow was slowly disappearing…
And then…I woke up.
It was an extraordinary feeling. Anyone who reads this might not feel the same way…he/she might even find the dream senseless at all!
But it was really different for me. It was like, at that very moment, when we were trying to reach for that rainbow, we were somewhat…united.
And when I got hold of the rainbow, I felt something incomparable to anything else. It was a feeling of happiness, triumph, success…contentment.
Some realizations:
Maybe at the end of OUR rainbows, we would find the same treasure, the same pot of gold.
Maybe we treasure each other that much.
Maybe, those who were there are the ones whom I can call “true friends.”
Maybe that rainbow, that dream, would not be interesting at all without those who helped me reach for that rainbow.
Maybe the rainbow symbolizes our goal, success, friendship, unity which we were able to achieve before the sun set down.
Maybe the big house symbolizes MunSci, where we first saw each other, where we established strong foundation of friendship, and where we’ll also leave each other 7 months from now.
Maybe Munsci made it possible for us to reach the rainbow at its highest point rather than seeking its other lowest end.
“At the end of a rainbow is a pot of gold.”
My friends, those who were in the big house…they are the treasures at the end of MY rainbow.
Okay, this may sound corny, but I nearly cried when I woke up. I never wanted that dream to end. I realized that graduation is fast approaching and I am afraid I might lose my pot of gold soon. I’m afraid the sun would eventually set down and leave no trace of the rainbow. But if that time comes, I know I’ll still have a part of the rainbow in me…the one I managed to got hold of and put inside my pocket…more than just the memory of it. Guess all good things do end. Worse, sooner than expected.
But one thing's for sure.
I’ll never forget that for once…
We all tried reaching for the same rainbow… :)
